The Week in Pictures
Here's what our week looked like...
Michael's first cow-milking lesson. It's harder than it looks... and it looks pretty awkward! He did great, though, and the cow was not traumatized too much (heh heh). She did empty her bladder and successfully drenched the floor, and Michael on the leg. But he saved the milk bucket from getting splashed, so that was good. Ahh, the simple life. It's almost as good as washing clothes by hand.
This farm has 5 cows and 15-20 goats that get milked twice every day. By hand. That's a lot of milking.
A mural outside of our favorite coffee shop inspired by the hand-painted ox carts that are common here. I like the colors.
Sorry about the creepy-crawlies... but this is real life in Costa Rica. We have seen lots of scorpions here in Monteverde. I'm not a fan.
But I am a fan of these. Our first batch of cinnamon rolls sold out in the first day. Yay! We made more on Friday, and hope to get some local places to sell them for us. I can't tell you how many I ate. Not because I don't remember, but because I would feel a little embarrassed. And I'm probably going to have more tonight. Being a grownup is cool.
And this little one. This little one takes my breath away... saggy diaper and all.
